How you will feel
You may experience moderate pain and swelling for the first few weeks.
What to do after the procedure
If incisions are made inside the mouth, cleanse the mouth with a warm salt water rinse 4-5 times daily. Do NOT use commercial mouth washes for one week. Mix a half spoon of salt in an 8-ounce glass of water and swish it inside your mouth a little at a time for five minutes.
Apply ice as needed; 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off to assist with the pain and swelling.
Diet instructions
Resume your normal diet as tolerated. Rest and nutrition are an essential part of healing.
Medications
Take the antibiotics, pain and swelling medications as instructed by Dr. Bahi.
Dressings
Wear pressure dressing and head wrap 24 hours a day for the first week, then remove pressure dressing and only wear head wrap at night time only for 30 days.
Sutures
Will be removed in office at your 1 week – 10 day follow up appointment.
